Why SBKE Exists

Every family is teaching something.

Whether intentionally or unintentionally.

Through conversations.

Through habits.

Through success.

Through failure.

Through what they celebrate.

Through what they ignore.

The question isn't whether we're teaching.

The question is…

What are we teaching?

Over time, our family began noticing how much of life is taught without ever being formally explained.

In the way we speak to one another. The habits we repeat. The way we respond when things go well—and when they don't.

We started asking a simple question: What are we teaching, whether we mean to or not?

That question sits at the heart of SBKE.

We believe the earlier we understand ourselves, the better decisions we make—not because life becomes easier, but because we become more intentional.

SBKE is our family's ongoing pursuit of that idea. We are documenting the conversations, habits, questions, experiences, and lessons shaping us in real time so others can observe, reflect, and take whatever helps them build a more meaningful life of their own.

We are not documenting a perfect life. We are documenting an intentional one.

This is not a blueprint for how to live. It is an invitation to see how we are trying.

This chapter is still being written — as is the family behind it.
